Designing with Web Standards: Jeffery Zeldman

Jeffery Zeldman, a co-founder of the Web Standards project, has been creating web pages since the dawn of time. This book, in it’s second edition, is his contribution to ending the continual madness that is browser compliance or the illusion of. Bless you Zeldman. I have spent too many hours just to get my pages to work across multiple browsers only to have them broken with the latest update of browser X. As I read this book I will post a few notes of things I find relevant to my practices. I also look forward to not coding a website six different times and embracing the standards that will bring about a much more efficient workflow and more accessible user experience.

Part One

Introduction and before you begin.

I have just finished reading the books preface including information about the author and editors, the Intro and before you begin section. If you are not an internet developer or designer these pages are a nice introduction as to why design and development for the web can be so challenging and time consuming but, for  my purposes they are really just an introduction to the author, his writing style and the book. Now on to chapter one.
